Not many students have a plan for the fall following senior year. Then there are those who do. It’s important to have an idea of what you’re looking to go to school for so that you can do as much research as possible. It is for this reason that I chose to do my senior project on cancer; a topic not many people would be willing to discuss. However, I chose my topic based on my interest in the oncology field.  Seeing as I am hopeful for a career relating to caner I figured I could start off by increasing the public knowledge of statistics and facts on cancer.

     During this project I learned that I could create a relationship with my audience that helped both my presentation and the interest of the students. I also know after completing this project that cancer research is most definitely the field I am most drawn to. I realized also that I can in fact public speak and comfortably deliver important information to my peers.

     There were many obstacles and accomplishments made during the creation of my project. The biggest obstacle faced was getting over my fear of speaking publically. After working very long and hard with my mentor on speaking habits I was finally able to feel comfortable enough to speak. A very successful accomplishment was the proof that the students learned things about cancer in my presentation. After looking back on the activities completed by the students it was clear that they had learned a lot after my lecture.
