My mentor contributed to my project by allowing me to borrow her classroom to teach her students about cancer prevention and treatments. My mentor helped me complete an entire lesson plan to help prepare for my seminar. She also helped me improve my time management skills as well as help me along the path of success.
The biggest learning stretch for me during this project was improving my public speaking abilities. I had to learn how to interact with a crowd and make eye contact all while trying to remember a speech. It took many hours of practice to prepare myself to educate others. After many failed attempts I finally had what it took to relate to my audience and fill them with knowledge they can make great use out of.
